About the Project

This project, Promoting Green Skills Through Games, builds from the success of the previous Green Games in Tourism and Hospitality project completed in 2016.

The central aim of this project is to develop an educational digital game in the area of sustainability education targeted at primary and secondary schools. The main outputs are:

  • A State of the Art with thorough research and analysis of the state of art of environmental and sustainable education in the involved partner countries

  • A Digital Game and associated content – A mobile-first, interactive digital game and associated teaching and learning material for primary and secondary school students to help them develop the skills and knowledge necessary to promote and actively engage in sustainability within their homes and communities

  • Toolkit for teachers A toolkit containing guides, best practices and associated educational material to help teachers in using the game and in integrating the game in an educational setting.

State of the Art

A report with thorough research and analysis of the state of art of environmental and sustainable education in the involved partner countries including available formal and non-formal education and training possibilities, certification programs and official policy and public documents regulating sustainability, food, water and energy waste.

Learning Content

The subject-specific, transferable competencies identified in O1, structured in a format which has been integrated and taught through a digital game but which can also be used for teaching and learning in a stand-alone capacity by teachers and independent learners.

Digital Game

A mobile-first, interactive digital game for primary and secondary school students to help them develop the skills and knowledge necessary to promote and actively engage in sustainability within their homes and communities, as aligned with their school curriculum.

Toolkit for Teachers

A toolkit containing guides, best practices and associated educational material to help teachers in using the game and in integrating the game in an educational setting.

Online Platform

An online platform which hosts the project outputs, provides support for the teachers, trainers, educators and learners who will be using the game and learning materials, and which also integrates with the project game to provide teachers with the opportunity to control, pace and schedule the learning activities
